We arrived at the free street-side parking area below Osolnik at a quarter to 9. There were still plenty of spots available, but it tends to get busy quickly when the weather is so nice on a Saturday. The parking area sits between the road and Ločnica, a small stream. On the other side of the road is the start of our hike, a gravel road that leads up into the Polhov Gradec Hills.
We followed the gravel road for a kilometer where a bridge takes it over a small stream. After the bridge a narrower gravel path branches off to the left while the road continues to the right. We continued onto the path.
A couple of fallen trees between the path and the little stream coming down the hill provided a perfect place to sit down for a little break and breakfast.
The path gets narrower and steeper with occasional steps and stairs before joining back up with the gravel road that took the long way around.
The top of Osolnik is a mix of mostly grass fields the occasional group of trees. There are quite some buildings as well and the gravel road runs between them.
We followed the same path down as we did coming up.
The path out of the forest drops us right back at the parking area.
