We start a bit late today at 10 in the morning. All parking spots right at the start of the path are taken, but there are a couple of free ones 100 meters down the road, so we park there.
We walk along the road to the start of the path towards Sveti Jakob.
We follow the mix of roads and paths across the rolling Polhov Gradec hills to the edge of the forest.
We continue into the forest. Almost immediately the path splits. We continue on the left path and should come back on the right. Last time the marked path deviated from that plan and we came back on the road, but this time we're going to try and stick to what I planned.
We exit the forest onto an open field and make our way across to the hill ridge leading up to Sveti Jakob. From the ridge we are treated to a beautiful view across the Ljubljana basin. We take a quick break on the bench there before going through the last bit of forest between us and Sveti Jakob.
We sit down on one of the many benches around Sveti Jakob and enjoy the views for a while.
Paying a bit more attention and occasionally ignoring the marked path we manage to stick to the planned path this time. It's shorter and stays in the forest which is nice on a hot and sunny day like today.
